2025 Invitational

Recap

The 2025 At Bats for Autism Invitational continued to build on the momentum of the inaugural event, bringing together competitive softball programs, passionate communities, and supporters united by a shared mission: using the game of softball to raise awareness and support for autism initiatives benefiting the Eagles Autism Foundation.

While weather challenges impacted the weekend schedule, the event once again showcased the resilience, competitiveness, and community spirit that have quickly become the foundation of the invitational. “Texas Drizzle” forced the cancellation of Saturday’s slate of games and required adjustments throughout the remainder of the event schedule.

Action began Sunday morning with Holy Spirit opening the day in dominant fashion, defeating Atlantic City 15–0 in the first matchup of the day. Middle Township followed with an impressive 11–2 victory over Gloucester Catholic in Game 2. In one of the marquee matchups of the invitational, Paul VI earned an 8–4 victory over Ocean City during the afternoon session. The day concluded with one of the tournament’s most exciting finishes as Atlantic Christian School defeated Cape May Tech 4–3 in extra innings after an intense eight-inning battle.

The final game of the invitational was completed on Thursday, April 17, when Holy Cross edged Egg Harbor Township 3–2 in another extra-inning thriller, giving the 2025 event its second dramatic eight-inning finish.

The event created an atmosphere centered on awareness, inclusion, competition, and community connection. Players, coaches, families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters all contributed to an event that continues to grow both in visibility and impact.

The invitational also expanded its event operations and overall experience through enhanced livestream coverage, increased community engagement, and stronger fundraising initiatives supporting autism awareness and advocacy efforts. Each game, donation, sponsorship, and livestream view helped contribute to the continued mission of making a meaningful impact both on and off the field.

As the At Bats for Autism Invitational continues to grow, so does its purpose. What began as a local softball event is quickly evolving into a premier annual tradition that represents competition, compassion, and community working together for something greater than the game itself.
